> dijitul support helps UK tradespeople and small contractors with the tech behind the business: professional email on your own domain, job management apps such as Tradify or ServiceM8, MTD-ready bookkeeping set-up, secure phones and a website that brings in enquiries. Website care starts at £25 a month + VAT, and one-off help is £45 an hour + VAT.

## Common symptoms

- Customers say your quotes or invoices went to their spam folder
- Your website quote form has not sent you an enquiry for weeks
- You still use a free webmail address for the business
- Job photos and certificates only exist on one phone
- Your job app and accounting software are not talking to each other
- You are not sure whether Making Tax Digital applies to you yet

## Key facts

- Business email on your own domain through Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, set up so it does not land in spam
- Help connecting job management apps such as Tradify, Fergus, ServiceM8 and Commusoft to Xero or QuickBooks
- Making Tax Digital for Income Tax now applies to sole traders over the HMRC qualifying income threshold
- Phones secured with passcodes, backups and Find My Device, because the phone is the office
- Website care so quote forms work and your Google Business Profile matches your details
- Essential £25, Business £50 or Complete £99 a month + VAT; ad-hoc £45 an hour + VAT

## Email that looks professional and gets delivered

Quotes and invoices sent from a free webmail address look less trustworthy and are more likely to be filtered. We set up email on your own domain using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, move your old messages and contacts across, and configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC so customers' mail servers trust your messages.

We also turn on multi-factor authentication. A tradesperson's mailbox is a target too: criminals use hacked accounts to send fake invoices to your customers with their own bank details. See email support and email deliverability.

## Job management apps and Making Tax Digital

Apps such as Tradify, Fergus, ServiceM8, Commusoft and Powered Now handle quotes, scheduling, job sheets and invoices. They work best when connected properly to your accounting software, whether that is Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent, so invoices and payments do not have to be typed twice.

That matters more now. According to HMRC, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies from 6 April 2026 to sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, then over £30,000 from April 2027 and over £20,000 from April 2028. Quarterly updates must be sent through compatible software. Your accountant decides what you need to submit; we make sure the apps are set up, connected, and that everyone in the business can log in securely.

## Your phone is your office

Most tradespeople run the business from a phone. If it is lost, stolen or dropped in a trench, so are your photos, certificates, customer details and email. We help you set up:

- A strong passcode and biometrics, with Find My iPhone or Find My Device turned on.
- Automatic backup of photos and documents to iCloud, Google Drive or OneDrive.
- An authenticator app for your business accounts, with backup codes stored safely.
- Shared calendars and job apps for any staff, so you are not the single point of failure.

For bigger teams with company phones, we can manage them centrally. See device management.

## A website and profile that win work

Most new customers find a trade through Google search, Maps or a recommendation they then check online. Your website needs to load quickly on a phone, show the areas you cover, and have a quote form that actually reaches you. Broken forms are one of the most common problems we fix: a plugin update, an expired SMTP password or spam filtering can silently stop every enquiry.

We keep your site updated and backed up, test the forms and make sure your contact details match your Google Business Profile. See website forms not working and Google Business Profile support.

## Growing from one van to a team

The tech that works for one person often breaks when you take on staff. Shared passwords to the job app, one email address everyone reads, and invoices sent from the owner's personal phone all cause problems. As you grow, we help you move to individual accounts for each person, a shared mailbox for enquiries, shared calendars for scheduling and company phones that can be wiped if someone leaves.

The office side matters too. A small yard office with a PC, a printer for job sheets and a broadband router that has never been updated is a common weak point. We secure the router, update the PC, set up backups and make sure the printer works from everyone's device. See small business IT support.

When you take on subcontractors, give them access to the job app only, not your email or accounts, and remove it when the work ends.

## Plans and prices for trades

A sole trader who mainly needs the website kept safe can use **Essential at £25 a month + VAT**. **Business at £50 a month + VAT** adds an hour of changes each month, handy for new photos, services or areas. A firm with office staff and vans may want **Complete at £99 a month + VAT**, which adds a helpdesk for everyone's IT and Microsoft 365 questions.

Not ready for a plan? One-off help is £45 an hour + VAT. See pricing.

## FAQs

### Do I need Making Tax Digital software?

If you are a sole trader or landlord with qualifying income over £50,000, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax has applied since 6 April 2026, with the threshold falling in 2027 and 2028. Check with your accountant. dijitul can set up and connect the apps they recommend.

### Why do my quotes go to customers' spam?

Usually because your domain is missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC records, or you send from a free webmail address. dijitul sets these records up correctly and tests delivery, which typically fixes spam filtering problems for quotes and invoices.

### Can you get my website quote form working again?

Yes. dijitul tests the form, checks the plugin, the mail sending set-up and spam filtering, then fixes the cause. A one-off fix is £45 an hour + VAT, or website care plans start at £25 a month + VAT with ongoing checks.

### What happens if I lose my work phone?

If it was set up properly, you lock or wipe it remotely, restore your photos and documents from the cloud backup and sign in on a new phone using your authenticator backup. dijitul can set all of this up before it happens.

### Is IT support worth it for a one-person trade business?

Often a plan is not needed. Many sole traders use dijitul's ad-hoc support at £45 an hour + VAT to set things up once, then Essential at £25 a month + VAT to keep the website safe and backed up.
