> Whether you run a law firm in Edinburgh or an energy contractor in Aberdeen, dijitul can support your IT and website from Mansfield over a secure remote connection. Work in Scotland that truly needs a visit is quoted before we travel. Plans cost from £25 a month + VAT, with ad-hoc help at £45 an hour + VAT.

Scotland's economy has some clear centres of gravity. Edinburgh is a major financial and professional services city, home to banks, insurers, asset managers and a large legal sector. Glasgow has a broad mix of professional services, creative businesses and engineering. Aberdeen grew around North Sea oil and gas and is now heavily involved in the energy transition, including offshore wind. Dundee is known for its games development heritage, and the Highlands and Islands rely on tourism, food and drink, fishing and whisky.

Those sectors shape what support looks like. Scottish law firms work under Scots law and the Law Society of Scotland, but their IT needs are the same as any practice: encrypted laptops, MFA on Microsoft 365, secure client email and reliable backups of case management data. Energy and engineering firms in the North East often have staff who travel or work offshore and need laptops that can be managed remotely through Intune, with VPN or zero trust access to company files. Distilleries, hotels, tour operators and food producers need websites that take bookings and orders without falling over in peak season, and email that does not land in spam.

Connectivity is a real factor outside the Central Belt. The Scottish Government's Reaching 100% (R100) broadband programme exists because many rural homes and businesses still had slow connections. For a guest house in Sutherland or a craft business on an island, moving files to SharePoint and OneDrive, reducing reliance on a local server and adding a mobile data backup can make a bigger difference than any new PC.

Universities including Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, Strathclyde, Aberdeen and Dundee also produce a steady flow of spin-outs and small tech firms that need a properly configured Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, a domain with correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, and a website they can actually update.

Data protection rules are UK-wide, so UK GDPR and the ICO apply in Scotland exactly as in England. We support Scottish businesses remotely from Mansfield and quote any on-site visit upfront, including travel, before anything is booked.

### Can a company in England support our Scottish business properly?

Yes. Almost everything we do, from fixing a broken WordPress site to sorting Outlook, MFA and Microsoft 365 licensing, is done remotely, so distance from Mansfield makes little difference. UK GDPR applies across the UK, so the data protection side is identical. On-site work in Scotland is rarely needed, and if it is we quote it, travel included, before booking.

### Do you support businesses in the Highlands and Islands?

Yes. Remote support works on modest connections, and we often help rural businesses depend less on their line: moving files to OneDrive and SharePoint, configuring a 4G or 5G backup router, and making sure the website and booking system are hosted somewhere reliable rather than on a local machine.

### What does IT support cost for a small Scottish business?

dijitul plans cost £25, £50 or £99 a month + VAT depending on how much help you need, with the £99 Complete plan adding IT and Microsoft 365 helpdesk for your team. One-off jobs are £45 an hour + VAT, with a 30-minute minimum and then 15-minute blocks.

### Can you build Gaelic or bilingual content into our website?

We can set up and maintain the technical side of a multilingual WordPress site, such as a translation plugin, language switcher and correct hreflang tags, so each language version is indexed properly. The translation itself needs to come from you or a translator, and we then load and maintain it.
