> Hotels, guest houses and tour operators in York serve millions of visitors drawn by the Minster and the Shambles, so booking sites cannot fail. dijitul keeps them online from Mansfield, working remotely, along with insurers and rail consultancies, and quotes before any site visit. Plans begin at £25 a month + VAT; ad-hoc support is £45 an hour + VAT.

York's economy rests on a few strong pillars: tourism, insurance and financial services, rail, and science. Millions of visitors a year come for the Minster, the city walls and the Shambles, which supports a dense network of hotels, guest houses, cafés, tour operators and independent shops. Aviva has a long-standing major office in the city, Hiscox runs a large site by the river, and Nestlé still makes KitKat at its York factory, alongside its confectionery research centre.

Rail is part of York's identity. The National Railway Museum is here, and Network Rail runs a large operating centre next to the station, so plenty of local consultancies and engineering firms work in the rail supply chain. The York Central regeneration scheme is creating new office space beside the station. The University of York and York St John University anchor a science and technology community, with York Science Park at Heslington housing bioscience, agritech and software firms.

For IT and websites, York businesses split into two groups. Visitor-facing firms live or die by their booking engine, website speed on a phone, Google Business Profile and guest Wi-Fi that copes with a full house. Many trade from listed buildings where Wi-Fi has to work through thick walls without drilling through historic fabric, so mesh access points and careful channel planning matter. Office-based firms in insurance, consultancy and research need tidy Microsoft 365 tenants, secure remote access, and evidence of good security practice for clients' supplier questionnaires.

Yes. We fix booking widgets that stop loading, SSL and mixed content warnings, slow mobile pages and broken contact forms. One-off fixes are £45 an hour + VAT, or a monitored plan from £25 a month + VAT keeps the site updated and backed up.

### Do you support businesses outside York city centre?

Yes. We work with firms across York and nearby, including Haxby, Acomb, Tadcaster, Malton, Selby and Pocklington. Support is delivered remotely from Mansfield, and if something needs a site visit we quote it upfront.

### Our Wi-Fi does not reach every room in our listed building. What can you do?

We can look at your current router and access points remotely, identify interference and dead zones, and recommend a mesh or wired access point layout that avoids damaging the building. Any installation that needs someone on site is quoted before work starts.
