Google Ads Technical Support

dijitul support fixes the technical side of Google Ads for UK businesses: conversion tracking that does not record enquiries, Consent Mode v2, disapproved ads, account suspensions, billing problems, lost access and campaigns wasting money on irrelevant searches. We work remotely at £45 an hour + VAT, so you pay for fixes, not a management retainer.

Updated 2026-10-10 · by the dijitul support team, Mansfield, UK

Sound familiar?

  • Google Ads shows zero conversions but the phone is ringing
  • Your ads have been disapproved or limited
  • The account is suspended for 'circumventing systems' or 'unpaid balance'
  • You are paying for clicks on searches that have nothing to do with your business
  • An old agency still controls your Ads account
  • Remarketing lists have stopped growing

Key facts

  • Without working conversion tracking, Smart Bidding optimises for the wrong thing
  • Since March 2024, Google requires advertisers using its measurement and personalisation features for UK and EEA users to pass consent signals, via Consent Mode v2
  • Consent Mode v2 uses four signals: ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization
  • Enhanced conversions can improve measurement using hashed first-party data
  • Search terms reports show what people actually typed before clicking
  • Fixes: £45 an hour + VAT, no monthly management fee

What we fix, and what we do not

Many small businesses run Google Ads themselves or inherited an account from an agency. They do not need a full-time manager, but they do need someone to fix the plumbing: tracking, access, policy problems and obvious waste. That is what dijitul support does, charged by the hour.

We do not take a percentage of your ad spend, and we will tell you if your account would be better served by a specialist paid search agency running it day to day.

Typical jobs include a tracking audit before a new campaign launches, a second opinion on an agency's setup, or a clean-up after an account has been left running unattended for months.

Conversion tracking

If Google Ads cannot see your enquiries, its bidding algorithms optimise for clicks, and clicks are not customers. We set up and test:

  • Form submissions imported from GA4 key events or tracked directly with the Google Ads tag in Tag Manager. See Google Analytics support.
  • Calls from ads using call assets, and calls from the website using Google forwarding numbers or click-to-call tracking.
  • Purchases with revenue for WooCommerce and Shopify shops.
  • Enhanced conversions, which use hashed first-party data such as email addresses to improve measurement.

We then check that primary and secondary conversion actions are set correctly, so you are not counting page views as conversions.

Consent Mode v2

Since March 2024, Google has required advertisers who use its measurement, ad personalisation and remarketing features for UK and EEA users to send consent signals using Consent Mode v2. It uses four signals: ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. If your cookie banner does not pass these, remarketing audiences stop growing and conversion data is reduced. We connect your consent banner to Google tags correctly and test each state. See cookie consent compliance.

Disapprovals, suspensions and access

  • Disapproved ads: we read the policy reason, fix the ad or landing page (common causes are destination not working, misleading claims, trademark use or a missing privacy policy), and request review.
  • Account suspensions: "circumventing systems", "suspicious payment activity" and "unpaid balance" each need a different response. We help you complete advertiser verification and submit an appeal with the right documents.
  • Access: if an agency created the account under their manager account, we help you request access or unlink it, and make sure your business email is an Admin user.
  • Billing: declined cards, invoices and VAT details on the payments profile.

Stopping wasted spend

A quick health check often finds money leaking out of small accounts: broad match keywords triggering unrelated searches, no negative keywords, Display Network ticked on a Search campaign, ads running across the whole UK when you only serve Nottinghamshire, or Performance Max spending on placements you would never choose. We review the search terms report, add negatives, tighten location targeting to "presence" rather than "presence or interest", and give you a short list of changes.

We also check the landing page. An ad that sends people to a slow homepage with no clear phone number or form wastes the click you paid for. A focused page with the service, the area you cover, a visible phone number and a short form almost always converts better. If the page needs changing, we can do it as part of the same job.

Pricing

Google Ads fixes and health checks are charged at £45 an hour + VAT, with a 30 minute minimum then 15-minute blocks. A tracking setup with testing typically takes two to three hours. There is no monthly management fee unless you want one, in which case we will quote. If you are a registered charity, Google Ad Grants may give you free search advertising; see tech support for charities. For your wider online presence, see digital support for small businesses.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Google Ads show no conversions?

Usually the conversion tag is missing from the thank-you page, the form does not redirect so there is nothing to trigger on, consent settings block the tag, or the conversion action is set to secondary. dijitul uses Tag Assistant to test the full journey, fixes the cause and confirms conversions are recorded.

What is Consent Mode v2 and do I need it?

Consent Mode v2 passes your visitors' cookie choices to Google tags using four signals. Since March 2024 Google has required it for advertisers using measurement, personalisation and remarketing for UK and EEA users. Without it, audiences and conversion data suffer. dijitul connects it to your cookie banner.

My Google Ads account is suspended. Can you help?

Yes. dijitul identifies the suspension reason, such as circumventing systems, suspicious payment activity or unpaid balance, fixes the underlying problem, helps you complete advertiser verification and submits an appeal with suitable evidence. Outcomes depend on Google, but a well-prepared appeal has a better chance.

Do you manage Google Ads campaigns?

dijitul focuses on technical fixes and health checks charged by the hour, not percentage-based management. If you want ongoing day-to-day campaign management, we will quote for it or tell you honestly if a specialist paid search agency would suit your account better.

How much does Google Ads support cost?

dijitul charges £45 an hour + VAT, with a 30 minute minimum. Conversion tracking setup with testing usually takes two to three hours. A health check of search terms, negatives and targeting is often one to two hours. There is no monthly fee or share of ad spend.
