Why your Business Profile matters
For many local businesses, the Google Business Profile is the first thing a customer sees: your phone number, opening hours, reviews, photos and a map pin. When it is suspended, unverified or showing the wrong number, calls simply stop.
dijitul support fixes the technical and admin side: access, verification, suspensions, duplicates and accuracy. If you want a full local SEO campaign to climb the map results, that is a marketing job, and our SEO support page explains the difference.
Verification problems
Google now commonly asks businesses to verify by recording a short continuous video. It usually needs to show:
- your location or the outside of your premises, with street signs or nearby businesses for context;
- permanent signage with your business name, or for service-area businesses, branded vehicles or equipment;
- proof that you manage the business, such as unlocking the premises, using the till, or showing tools of the trade.
Videos fail when they are cut, too short, too dark or do not show the address clearly. We plan the video with you, check your profile details match your website and other listings exactly, and help with resubmission if it is rejected. Service-area businesses working from home should hide their address and set a service area rather than showing a home address.
Suspensions and appeals
Profiles get suspended for reasons like keyword-stuffed business names ("Smith Plumbing Mansfield Emergency Boiler Repair"), a virtual office address, multiple listings for the same business, or a sudden batch of edits. Google's appeal process lets you submit evidence from the Business Profile dashboard.
We work out which guideline the profile likely broke, correct it first, and then gather the evidence Google asks for: business registration, utility bills or a lease in the business name, photos of signage, and your website showing the same details. A clean, consistent appeal has a much better chance than repeated attempts.
Ownership, duplicates and wrong information
- Lost access: if an old agency or ex-employee is the owner, we request ownership through Google's access process, and add you as primary owner with us as a manager only, so it never happens again.
- Duplicates: we identify which listing has the best history and reviews, then request removal of the duplicate or mark it as closed or moved.
- Suggested edits: anyone can suggest changes to your listing. We check pending edits, correct hours, categories and phone numbers, and make sure your primary category is right.
- Reviews: we report reviews that break Google's policies, such as spam, conflicts of interest or offensive content, and help you write calm, useful replies to genuine negative ones.
Keep your details consistent everywhere
Google cross-checks your business name, address and phone number against your website and other directories. Mismatches, such as an old landline on Yell, a previous address on Companies House, or "Ltd" on one listing and not another, can cause verification failures and weaken trust. We check your profile against your website footer, contact page, schema markup and major directories, and list anything that needs updating. If you have moved premises, we mark the old location correctly rather than creating a fresh profile, so your reviews come with you.
Pricing
Business Profile fixes are charged at £45 an hour + VAT, with a 30 minute minimum then 15-minute blocks. Many jobs, such as correcting details, adding managers or reporting reviews, take under an hour. Suspensions and ownership disputes take longer because they depend on Google's response, and we will tell you what to expect. If your website needs updating to match your new details, our content updates service covers it, and the Business plan at £50 a month + VAT includes an hour of changes each month. Frequently asked questions
Why has my Google Business Profile been suspended?
Common reasons include keywords or locations added to the business name, a virtual office or PO box address, duplicate listings, or many edits at once. dijitul identifies the likely guideline breach, corrects it, then submits an appeal from the dashboard with evidence such as business documents and photos of signage.
How do I verify my Google Business Profile by video?
Record one continuous video showing your location or nearby streets, permanent signage or branded vehicles, and proof you manage the business, such as unlocking the door or using equipment. dijitul helps you plan the video and checks your details match your website so verification is more likely to succeed.
An old agency owns our Google listing. How do we get it back?
Use Google's request access process from the Business Profile. The current owner is asked to respond, and if they do not, Google may let you claim it after a waiting period. dijitul handles the request and then sets your business as primary owner with any agencies added only as managers.
Can you remove bad Google reviews?
Only Google can remove reviews, and only if they break its policies, such as spam, fake engagement, conflicts of interest or offensive content. dijitul reports reviews that qualify and helps you write measured, professional replies to genuine negative ones, which future customers read too.
How much does Google Business Profile support cost?
dijitul charges £45 an hour + VAT, with a 30 minute minimum. Simple fixes like updating details, adding users or reporting reviews usually take under an hour. Suspensions and ownership disputes take longer because they depend on Google's response times.
